Cookies & tracking.
The short version. The Vedio marketing site uses cookies and tracking pixels for analytics (understanding how the site is used) and marketing (measuring ad effectiveness). Both are opt-in - nothing fires until you choose in the consent banner. You can change your choice any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
1 · What cookies are
Cookies are small data files that a website stores on your device to remember things about your visit - login state, language preferences, dismissed notices. They can be set directly by the site you are visiting (first-party) or by third-party services embedded on it (third-party).
2 · What we set on vedio.dk
We group what we set into three categories. Only "necessary" runs without consent.
- Necessary (always on). We use
localStorageto remember your language choice (vedio_lang) and your cookie consent (vedio_cookie_consent). Both are first-party and never leave your browser. - Analytics (consent required). PostHog - a product analytics tool that helps us understand which pages people visit, what works, and where they drop off. Hosted via our reverse proxy
d.vedio.dkso data goes directly to PostHog in the EU. - Marketing (consent required).
- LinkedIn Insight Tag - measures ad conversions from LinkedIn campaigns. LinkedIn's privacy policy.
- Facebook (Meta) Pixel - measures ad conversions from Facebook/Instagram campaigns and builds retargeting audiences. Meta's privacy policy.
3 · How consent works
On your first visit we show a banner with three options:
- Accept all - turns on both Analytics and Marketing.
- Reject all - no Analytics, no Marketing. Necessary only.
- Customize - toggle each category independently.
Your choice is stored in your browser (localStorage.vedio_cookie_consent) and is gone if you clear browser data. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. If you withdraw consent, PostHog tracking stops on the next page load; the LinkedIn and Facebook pixel scripts can't be uninstalled mid-session, but won't load again on the next navigation.
4 · Third-party services that may set cookies if you interact with them
- Calendly - when you open the demo-booking widget, Calendly sets its own cookies to operate the booking flow. See Calendly's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts - fonts are served from
fonts.gstatic.com. No cookies are set, but the font files come from Google's CDN, which means Google sees your IP address. We are evaluating self-hosting alternatives. - YouTube / Vimeo - only when an embedded video is loaded, which currently does not happen on this marketing site.
5 · Inside the Vedio platform (app.vedio.dk)
The application uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies for authentication, session continuity and CSRF protection. These are not set on the marketing site you are reading now. They are required for the Service to function and cannot be opted out of without ending the Service. They are described inside the application.
6 · Email tracking
If we send you a newsletter or product update by email, the email may contain standard tracking pixels that record open and click events to help us improve our communication. You can disable image loading in your email client to suppress them, and unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in every message. Service emails (billing, security, deliveries) do not carry marketing pixels.
7 · Cookie lifetime
Cookies fall into two categories by lifetime: session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them. The platform's authentication cookies are session-bound; the marketing site sets nothing of either type.
8 · How to manage cookies
Easiest: click "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page. You can toggle Analytics and Marketing independently - your choice saves immediately.
You can also clear localStorage and cookies at any time through your browser's privacy or developer tools. In most browsers: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → "Cookies and other site data." Industry opt-out tools such as YourOnlineChoices let you opt out of behavioural advertising broadly across the web.
Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies inside the Vedio platform will prevent you from logging in.
9 · Changes to this policy
If we add a new tracker or change what an existing category covers, we will surface the consent banner again so you can take a fresh look. The latest version of this page is always at this URL with an updated date.
